ACOMB men'sI ended the unbeaten run of Yorkshire League division four north leaders Tadcaster Magnets with a 4-3 win at Energise.

The Tangerines started quicker with some slick passing and Mike Humphries netted from close range, with the home keeper left prone.

Pete Hilton doubled the advantage within quarter of an hour, but ten minutes later Magnets were given hope when the ball fell loose at the far post.

There was a flurry of goals in the second half with Jonny Brown securing a two-goal lead for Acomb from a penalty corner.

Tadcaster quickly replied from a penalty corner routine despite the efforts of Tangerines keeper Craig Brown.

An immediate counter attack break led by Ryan Forster resulted in his neat pass finding Pete Hilton, who tapped in from close range.

Tadcaster scored a third goal from another penalty corner with five minutes remaining, but Acomb held out for the win.

Acomb II lost 4-2 to visiting Boston Spa III in division five north.

Boston Spa took the lead in the first 15 minutes, but Harry Ellis levelled five minutes later.

Both teams spurned chances in the second half before the visitors went ahead and they added a third goal five minutes from time.

Acomb pulled one back with a strike from Jon Bell, but Boston got their fourth on the final whistle.

Tangerines man of the match John Armitage was solid in defence.
