HANNAH SMITH won all of her matches to finish top of the Easingwold District Rock-it-Ball Junior League’s first division at Stillington.

She enjoyed a 60-27 victory over Matthew Leyshon, who went on to miss out on the runners-up spot and the second qualifying place for March’s national finals when he twisted his ankle against Clarice Bruin.

A two-point half-time deficit was then turned into a two-point winning margin by Bruin, who took second instead. Leyshon still came third despite having to withdraw from the tournament.

In division two, Henry Pittham, the league’s youngest player, emerged triumphant after overcoming nearest rival Miles Cotterell, who has only been playing the sport since July, 51-21.

Tom Hildreth defeated Stillington club coach Karen Bruin 80-34 to win the senior league crown.
