MORE than 50 volleyball teams from across the country took part in York Volleyfest 2013 at York College.
The main competition, a four-a-side mixed division, attracted 33 teams, with Polska beating Liverpoles in the cup and Haughton lifting the plate ahead of Barton Blockers.
A field of ten teams contested the men’s division, with Older But No Wiser winning the cup ahead of Worksop, while Ashfield Vipers won the plate ahead of York Young Guns.
In the eight-team junior competition, there were three teams from Fulford School, a mixed team from Ralph Butterfield Primary, and sides from York Volleyball Club.
Fulford 1 were the winners with Fulford 2 finishing as runners-up.
Anyone interested in joining York Volleyball Club can attend their Go Spike outdoor session on Thursday evenings in Rowntree Park.
