Leeds United boss Neil Warnock has some tough decisions to make before tomorrow’s Capital One Cup first round match against Shrewsbury, writes Mark Smith.

The Whites’ boss has brought in ten new faces so far in the transfer window, most notably goalkeeper Paddy Kenny and right-back Lee Peltier.

But they have also lost some influential figures from last season, Robert Snodgrass and Adam Clayton, to name just two.

Warnock is still pondering further options to his team and strengthening the attack is a priority.

He said: “We’re looking at other options and hopefully we can get someone in to supplement the forward play.

“We’ve got to move players on first, to get players in, but you can see that we do need another striker at least.”

Leeds go into the Elland Road Cup encounter as favourites but, on the back of a promotion and a largely successful pre-season, Shrewsbury will be no push-overs.

The proposed takeover of Leeds by an unnamed group of investors from the Middle East, has collapsed, according to the Leeds United Supporters Trust.

It is understood concerns about the takeover emerged on Wednesday when Leeds chief executive Shaun Harvey flew out to Monaco to meet with chairman Ken Bates in an effort to push the deal towards a conclusion.
