LEEDS United manager Neil Warnock will oversee the start of pre-season training at the Elland Road club tomorrow, writes Charlie Hollinrake.

The players get together in the build-up to the Whites’ first friendly fixture against Evo-Stik League side Farsley on Friday, July 20.

Warnock said: “Lads look after themselves nowadays and so they should. It’s a different ball game to what it used to be.

“We’ll look to have a good week pre-season training before we start with the game at Farsley.”

Less than 48 hours after the Farsley game, Leeds will head to Cornwall for a week-long training camp and three friendlies.

Warnock is eager to run the rule over new signing Jason Pearce, the centre-back signed from Portsmouth.

Pearce said he “cannot wait” to get back into training after modelling the club’s new kit at Thorp Arch last week.

Warnock is also hoping to be able to welcome back skipper Patrick Kisnorbo and Robbie Rodgers, who have been recovering from injuries over the summer.
