AFTER gaining their first win under new manager Neil Warnock, Leeds return to their Elland Road base for the big one.

For the first time this season Leeds’ fortress will be heaving with a 30,000-plus attendance after fans heeded Warnock’s appeal for a bumper crowd to greet title-chasing West Ham.

Midfielder Adam Clayton admitted he cannot wait for tomorrow’s tussle against a side boasting the best away record in the npower Championship after the 2-0 win at Middlesbrough, which he classed as one of “the performances” of the season.

Said Clayton: “There’s 30,000 tickets sold already and when Leeds fans are like that and behind us it’s going to be tough for anyone to come here.

“We’re aiming for the play-offs. We know what we have to do and we’re more than capable of doing it.”

Clayton is also revelling in his new midfield axis with the experienced Michael Brown.

“It’s very good,” said the 23-year-old.

“We joke about me being a ball boy when he played at Manchester City so for me to be playing with him now after he’s had such a good career is very good.

“The gaffer got the best out of him at Sheffield (United) and hopefully he can do the same with me here.”
