LEEDS United manager Simon Grayson is spot on when he says his players must not get carried away by their 4-1 win against fellow promotion chasers Nottingham Forest.

The home side strengthened their Championship play-off position but were distinctly second best until the contentious dismissal of midfielder Chris Cohen on 36 minutes.

His lunging challenge on George McCartney drew a straight red card from referee Mark Halsey.

Leeds cashed in on their numerical superiority in the second half and smart work by Robert Snodgrass and Eric Lichaj down the right paved the way for Jonny Howson to knock in the opener on 51 minutes.

It was the Leeds skipper’s tenth league goal of the campaign, joining Luciano Becchio, Max Gradel and Davide Somma in double figures for the league.

Becchio nodded in his 17th of the campaign after Leigh Bromby’s header from a deep corner came back off a post, but Forest sub Gareth McClearey halved the deficit on 65 minutes.

It was not until 18 minutes from time that the Whites made the game safe with a goal from Gradel, who then also added a fourth.
