DEFIANT Leeds United boss Simon Grayson swiftly turned from the doldrums to another crack at the high life.

Refusing to dwell on a run of two home games in which just two points have been prised, Grayson opted to look ahead to tomorrow’s Championship trip to fellow promotion play-off foes Swansea City.

Declared Grayson: “We have got 13 games to go to make sure we get into the top six.

“Swansea are our promotion rivals and it’s a game we are looking forward to and will be ready for.”

The mouth-watering clash in South Wales kicks off at 12.45pm and Grayson wants his charges to instantly rid themselves of the defensive sloppiness that led to the 3-3 share-all with mid-table Barnsley in midweek in the wake of the 2-2 draw, also at Elland Road, against another promotion pushing outfit, Norwich City.

While Grayson was not too dispirited by the Norwich draw, he was more riled by not exacting a maximum haul from the visit of Barnsley.

Especially galling was the Tykes’ late leveller in which a shot crashed through a feeble defensive wall.

“It was a great opportunity to get all three points against a hard-working and dogged team and it was a game we should have won,” said the Leeds boss.

“There were goals we could eradicate and it’s people staying with runners and not turning their backs in the wall.”
