POSITIVE thinking was the order of the day for Leeds United boss Brian McDermott after his side drew 1-1 at QPR in the Sky Bet Championship.

Ross McCormack’s 24th goal of the season from a deflected free-kick gave Leeds the lead on 11 minutes, moments after he had missed a penalty.

However, midfielder Jermaine Jenas slotted in the equaliser just before half-time.

McDermott said: “You’d take a point before the game here, but as the game panned out it was disappointing not to take all three. We should maybe have killed the game off in the first half.

“But it is what it is, another point on the board and I just want positivity around Leeds United. We haven’t had much lately.”

Leeds debutant Connor Wickham twice went close to a winner.
