Take the hint. North Yorkshire trainer Brian Rothwell bypasses tomorrow’s Catterick meeting with his recent course winner Tinseltown and instead sends his in-form gelding on the long haul to Yarmouth with no less a jockey than dual-champion Paul Hanagan booked for the mount.

Rothwell, who bought Tinseltown out of the Ballydoyle stable of Aidan O’Brien, has the six-year-old in excellent heart.

Having placed him to win twice at Wetherby over hurdles before a second-placed effort at Uttoxeter, the Norton trainer then switched the six-year-old to the Flat at Catterick last week and was rewarded with a decisive success.

Rather than wait for the handicapper to reassess Tinseltown, Rothwell is aiming to strike while the iron is hot in the Poker At bet365.com Handicap over one and three-quarter miles.

A 6lb penalty hardly looks enough to stop him in his tracks, especially with Hanagan doing the steering and Tinseltown receives the nap vote.

Medhyaar can also oblige for Hanagan in the bet365.com Maiden Stakes.

Trained by William Haggas and owned by Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, who now has first claim on the jockey, Medhyaar ran a most encouraging first race at Newmarket in June when runner-up in similar maiden company over seven furlongs.

That experience, coupled with this step up to a mile, should make her hard to beat.

While Haggas has another winning chance on the Yarmouth card with the Ryan Moore-ridden Darling Grace (4.40), Whitby Jet (3.40) is worth watching out for earlier on the programme after a string of respectable efforts in defeat.

At Catterick, Sledmere trainer Declan Carroll can strike with Mick Slates in the Book Tickets Online At catterickbridge.co.uk Handicap.

After seeing him finish second at both Musselburgh and Beverley, Carroll placed Mick Slates to win at Doncaster on his latest start. A 4lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from doubling up.

Royal Swain should be in his element over two miles in the Pin Point Recruitment Turmeric Handicap.

Alan Swinbank’s gelding chased home the smart Getabuzz over a distance just shy of this trip at Doncaster a couple of weeks ago.

A reproduction of that display may be good enough to see him home in front this time.

David Nicholls can get punters off to a good start at Catterick by placing Jamesbo’s Girl to advantage in the yorkshire- outdoors.co.uk Claiming Stakes.

The juvenile bombed home by seven lengths at Thirsk last time and, although this company is marginally stronger, another win looks likely.

In the TurfTV.co.uk Handicap, Tim Easterby can show his rivals the way home courtesy of Blue Shoes.

The three-year-old shaped well to finish third to Dutch Rose at Ripon last time and comes from a stable which sent out two winners at Ayr on Sunday.
