Lindoro, who has been in cracking form since joining Brian Ellison’s Norton establishment, can chalk up a hat-trick of wins at Southwell tomorrow – and provide Amy Ryan with a milestone victory.

Ryan, whose is attached to the Hambleton yard of her trainer father Kevin, has made a good impression since switching from amateur to professional ranks and currently needs just one more winner to take her career tally to 95 and lose her apprentices’ allowance.

Joining the fully-fledged league of riders will be the acid test for Ryan, but she has developed into an accomplished jockey, who should continue to attract good support once her 3lb claim has vanished.

Lindoro has won his last two races at Musselburgh and Southwell. He is proven on this course and, clearly at the top of his game at present, the seven-year-old can do his stuff once again in the Find Us On Facebook Southwell Racecourse Handicap.

Ellison could be set for a useful afternoon on the all-weather course. He has good prospects of landing the opening six furlong handicap with Feeling Good, the mount of Dale Swift, who won the Ebor for the Norton trainer last season on Moyenne Corniche.

Feeling Good was denied by only a neck on this course last time out over a mile. He now drops back in distance, which is an interesting experiment.

Secret Destination, who ran a fine race against the speedy Storm Moon here four weeks ago, is another fancied runner from the Ellison stable, but Polski Max, trained by Richard Fahey, is marginally preferred.

A creditable third at Musselburgh on his debut, Polski Max stepped up on that performance at Pontefract next time when finishing second to Lastchancelucas, who franked that form by following up at York last week.

Also worth noting at Southwell are Adam de Beaulieu (2.50), who represents Middleham trainer Ben Haslam, who saddled a winner at Redcar yesterday, and La Estrella (3.50), the pride and joy of Newmarket owner-trainer Don Cantillon. La Estrella has won no fewer than 19 races, 11 of them on this course.

At Lingfield, Scottish Vespers deserves attention in the News International Maiden Stakes.

Trained by Sir Michael Stoute and the mount of Ryan Moore, the three-year-old shaped well on his debut at Windsor to finish third, despite running green. That experience will not have been wasted on him and he is fancied to take top honours.

Freddie Tylicki rides nap selection Not Til Monday in the Menzies Distribution Handicap over one-and-three-quarter miles.

The John Jenkins-trained gelding chased home Light The City at Catterick last time, but may have found the ground too soft that day.

Also worth noting are Shouda (3.00), winner of his last two races last season and the mount of Frankel’s jockey Tom Queally, and Scottish Glen (5.30), already a winner on this course.
