Richard Fahey can continue his purple patch tomorrow at Haydock, where the great Lester Piggott is having a statue unveiled in his honour.

Fahey (pictured) has good prospects with St Savarin (2.25), a winner on this course two outings ago and a creditable runner-up at Southwell on his latest start.

The Malton trainer can also strike with Knot In Wood in the Akzo Nobel Premier Handicap. A course-and-distance winner, Knot In Wood ran a blinder in the Ayr Silver Cup last Saturday, finishing clear of his rivals on the far side of the course, and fifth overall, beaten only two lengths.

Fantasy Explorer should not be overlooked in the Lester Piggott "Start To Finish" Handicap over five furlongs. A prolific winner this summer, John Quinn's talented sprinter finished an excellent third to Buchaill Dona at York's Ebor Festival.

At Chester, Punta Galera makes plenty of appeal in the £33,000 Sportsman Handicap over ten furlongs. Having finished a good second to the smart Heaven Knows there last month, Richard Hannon's charge has since gone one better at Salisbury.

Also worth noting at Chester's final meeting of the season is John Quinn's Zomerlust, who was just touched off in the Ayr Silver Cup. He steps up to seven furlongs in the Innospec Handicap.
