Stillington trainer Marjorie Fife has Mandalay King in conquering form at the moment and the sprinter heads back to Scotland tomorrow to bid for a hat-trick of wins.

The totequickpick Handicap is the target for the six-year-old, who will have the assistance of PJ McDonald as he aims to defy a 6lb penalty.

Successful last week at Doncaster, Mandalay King had previously scored on this course. He is clearly in excellent heart at present and he is napped to have the edge over Red Cape, trained by neighbour Ruth Carr.

Mark Johnston is the sponsor of the Always Trying Maiden Stakes and can take the spoils with Mungo Park, his chosen runner from three entries.

The three-year-old showed solid form last season in his two outings and confirmed that promise with a creditable third place at Warwick on his recent reappearance. He should go well under the in-form Silvestre de Sousa.

Paul Hanagan can make his presence felt at Hamilton by winning the featured totepool Glasgow Stakes on Palm Pilot.

Ed Dunlop’s three-year-old won at Wolverhampton at the end of March with Hanagan on board. On his latest start, Palm Pilot finished a good fourth in a handicap at Newbury. He should go well.

John Quinn has his horses in good form and the Norton trainer has good prospects with Zomerlust in the hamilton-park.co.uk Claiming Stakes.

Although not the horse he once was, Zomerlust, who has been a good servant to the Quinn yard, showed he still retains a fair share of ability by winning his latest race at the same level at Ripon. He can follow up, despite having to concede weight to his rivals.

Lee Topliss requires just one more winner to reduce his claim to 3lb and the Norton apprentice has a chance of doing just that aboard Philharmonic Hall in the Hamilton Park Ladies Night Handicap.

Although he has been somewhat frustrating this season and has yet to win, Philharmonic Hall has run some fair races in defeat, not least at Newcastle last time out when he finished fifth. He steps up slightly in distance and it promises to be in his favour.

At Doncaster’s evening meeting, Norton jockey Tom Eaves takes the mount on Stonefield Flyer for his former weighing-room colleague Keith Dalgleish.

Stonefield Flyer’s latest outing was at Royal Ascot, where he found only Frederick Engels too good in the Windsor Castle Stakes. Stonefield Flyer runs in the Laurie Bolger Happy Birthday Memorial Novice Stakes and is fancied to get back on the winning trail.

Henry Cecil and Tom Queally can take the maiden race with the promising Elbe (7.35), while Frankie Dettori can light up Doncaster by a winner, courtesy of Secrecy (8.05), who is making his seasonal debut for Godolphin.
