North Yorkshire trainer Bryan Smart is aiming to play a striking role at Kempton tomorrow evening on behalf of Spurs manager Harry Redknapp.

Hambleton-based Smart is sending Arry’s Orse, a well-regarded four-year-old owned by Redknapp, to the Sunbury circuit for a crack at the Racing At skysports.com Handicap. Norton jockey Tom Eaves has the mount.

A lightly-raced individual, Arry’s Orse has had his share of problems and has only ever run three times. A winner at Lingfield this time last year, he was then off the course until Redcar in October when he found himself out of his depth in a Listed race won by Harrison George.

Smart, though, has always had a soft spot for Arry’s Horse, believing him to be a decent performer, if only he could get some continuity of racing under his belt.

The trainer’s horses are in good form and if Smart has Arry's Orse fit enough for his first outing for over three months, it would be no surprise to see him carry the Redknapp colours to a second career victory.

Norton trainer Ollie Pears has also targetted Kempton for nap selection Fleetwoodsands, who goes for the Betdaq Classified Claiming Stakes.

Twice a winner at Wolverhampton last year, Fleetwoodsands finished a close fifth to I Confess on his comeback run at Lingfield last month, which was a perfectly creditable performance given he had been absent since early October. A keen sort, he should go well with Barry McHugh in the saddle.

The in-form Very Well Red (5.40), winner of his last two starts at Lingfield and Wolverhampton, has strong hat-trick claims on a course where he has been successful in the past, while the consistent Black Baccara (6.10) should appreciate returning to the minimum distance, over which she won at Lingfield in late January, following two third-placed efforts over six furlongs.

At Lingfield tomorrow, North Yorkshire trainer Alan Swinbank makes a significantly rare raid with First Rock in the Blindley Heath Maiden Stakes.

The five-year-old, twice a winner in bumper company, was beaten into second at odds-on on his latest appearance at Southwell last month. He is, though, worth another chance tomorrow given the lack of strength in depth among the opposition and the fact that Swinbank is stepping him up another couple of furlongs.

Cold Secret (2.00), who failed by only a neck to make a winning start to the year at Kempton three weeks ago, should make a bold bid to go one better in Lingfield’s opening contest, while Brabazon (2.30) makes particular appeal half an hour later under Jamie Spencer.
