Two for the price of one. That could well be the pleasing outcome at Newcastle tomorrow for Norton trainer John Quinn and his apprentice Ian Brennan.

The freebetting.co.uk Handicap over a mile has divided into two divisions and Quinn and Brennan have bright prospects of winning both legs with Glenmuir and Zaplamation.

The former, an ex-Irish horse, is not the easiest to win with and has looked unlucky on his last two starts. He met trouble both here and at Ponefract, finishing third on each occasion after meeting trouble in running on both occasions.

Granted a clear run tomorrow, nap selection Glenmuir is expected to take plenty of beating.

Likewise Zaplamation half an hour later. A previous course and distance winner, he had a break through the summer, but he returned at Hamilton recently to finish an encouraging fifth to Casino Night. That first race since June should have benefited Zaplamation, who is fancied to step up on his latest performance.

Yedingham trainer Alan Brown has good prospects of landing the Shrewd Punters Visit freebetting.co.uk Handicap over six furlongs on Fair Bunny.

The three-year-old, far from disgraced on her latest outing, won here over this course and distance two starts ago. She still looks fairly handicapped.

Godolphin’s Parlour Games (2.10), who shaped well on his debut at Yarmouth, and Neville Bycroft’s Uddy Mac (3.50), who has run well to finish second on her latest two starts, are two others to consider.

At Nottingham, where another bumper eight-race card takes place, Paul Hanagan has a couple of decent chances of adding to his table-topping score in the jockeys’ championship.

Malton-based Hanagan has the mount on Kevin Ryan’s consistent sprinter Sharp Eclipse (2.50) and also the Jeremy Noseda-trained Elas Diamond (4.00), who finished a good second at Newmarket on her debut a fortnight ago. Provided none of the newcomers are above average in this one-mile maiden race, Elas Diamond should make a bold bid.

John Gosden and William Buick are going great guns and the Newmarket duo can score with Biographical in the PHS Group Nursery over ten furlongs.

The two-year-old showed that staying is his game when recently winning over a marginally shorter trip at Wolverhampton on his second outing.

Al Muthanaa looked a horse to watch when he broke his maiden at Ripon at the end of August. Trainer William Haggas has selected the PHS Smart Dri Hand Dryer Handicap and Richard Hills’ mount should be involved in the finish.
