Racing at Ayr, which was abandoned in controversial circumstances last week after the course was found to be unsafe, resumes tomorrow - but trainers and owners seem to have voted with their feet.

The seven races have attracted fewer than 50 runners, with three races contested by only four runners and one three-runner field.

Darlington trainer Michael Dods has targeted the Burns Mall Kilmarnock Handicap for nap selection Osteopathic Remedy, a winner a Thirsk earlier in the month.

There was plenty to like about that success which was achieved by one and a quarter lengths from Celtic Step.

Osteopathic Remedy has been raised 4lb for his latest success, but he still looks to be on an attractive mark.

Phillip Makin again takes the mount.

Miss Sunshine should not be overlooked in the Giles Glasgow Fair Meeting 21st July Handicap.

Jim Goldie's filly had been lined up for a race at last week's abandoned meeting before a false patch of ground was discovered in the home straight which caused the fixture to be lost.

A creditable third to Mel Brittain's useful Big Slick at Musselburgh on her latest start, Miss Sunshine, a half-sister to useful handicapper Rothesay Dancer, should give a good account of herself in this five furlong dash.

Karl Burke has a promising juvenile under his care in Peninsular War, who is fancied to make it third time lucky in the Dawn Developments Maiden Auction Stakes.

A creditable third at Musselburgh on his debut, Peninsular War then chased home the high-class Spin Cycle at Hamilton.

He deserves to find a winning opportunity here.

The Mark Johnston-trained Shaweel shaped well on his debut at York this month to finish third. Sure to be wiser for that outing, he can land the European Breeders Fund Maiden Stakes.

At Newcastle's evening meeting, Norton jockey Tom Eaves has come in for the mount on Crystal Capella for Sir Michael Stoute in the J & G Archibald Builders Merchants Maiden Fillies' Stakes.

Runner-up on both her outings to date, one last season and the other three weeks ago, Crystal Capella looks a promising filly on the strength of her latest effort at Nottingham. She should give Eaves a good ride.

Camelot Communion has run well in both her starts to date. Ann Duffield's youngster should be involved in the shake-up in the Fortress Architectural Systems Maiden Fillies' Stakes.

Gala Casino Star got off the mark at Redcar earlier this month and Richard Fahey's gelding bids to follow up in the Gilwood Mast Electrical Contractors Handicap.

Fahey's Malton stable is going great guns at present, and sent out winners at Carlisle and Redcar on Monday.
