RACING empire Godolphlin were celebrating a Knavesmire treble at York Racecourse.

Sheikh Mohammed's stable took the feature TSG Stakes yesterday with Amarna, scooped the opening Garbutt & Elliott Stakes with Fairmile and cruised to victory with evens favourite Calming Influence in the IG Index EBF Maiden Stakes.

While Ted Durcan rode Fairmile to victory in the first, Godolphin's success meant a double for Frankie Dettori. His ride on 5-2 favourite Amarna was particularly impressive with the one mile contest looking beyond the three-year-old at the two furlong marker.

But the Italian galvanised his charge, and Amarna responded to pip Prince Of Thebes and Zaahid.

Calming Influence was slow out of the stalls in the IG Index EBF Maiden Stakes but once the talented two-year-old hit the front with two furlongs left to travel, there was no doubt who would turn out the victor.

On Amarna, Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor said: "He's a very tough horse. We have got to find a race for him before the end of the season, but there is no plan. He can handle his races very well and he is improving. He could go to a mile-and-a-quarter."
