YORK Stakes winner Success Days is likely to make his next appearance on Irish Champions Weekend at Leopardstown next month.

Ken Condon's stable star enjoyed a long overdue day in the sun when claiming his first Group Two success on the Knavesmire less than a fortnight ago.

With give in the ground vital for the five-year-old grey, Condon is hoping his favoured conditions prevail at Leopardstown on September 9, where he will have a couple of options.

"He's come back from York very well and we were obviously delighted with him on the day. He was very tough and wasn't for passing," said the Rathbride-based trainer.

"He's well entered up and obviously the ground will be an important factor in where we go.

"Irish Champions Weekend is very important for us at home so as long as the ground is suitable, I would say that will be his next stop. I don't think he'll run in the mile-and-a-half Group Three (Enterprise Stakes) with the penalty, so it will either be the Boomerang Stakes over a mile or the Irish Champion Stakes over a mile and a quarter."

Condon also has one eye on Champions Day at Ascot on October 21, adding: "You'd like to think you'd have a fair chance of getting the ground in the third weekend in October and he'll be entered for the Champion Stakes and the QEII (Queen Elizabeth II Stakes).

"I think a mile and a quarter suits him well, but I wouldn't rule out going back to a mile if we got very soft ground.

"I'd say he's more likely to go down in trip than up to a mile and a half, anyway."
