NORTH YORKSHIRE trainer Micky Hammond heads to Sandown today with good prospects of a double with stable star Just Cameron and evergreen teenager Tullamore Dew.

JUST CAMERON developed into a high-class chaser last term, ending up with a lofty rating of 149 after chasing home the brilliant Un De Sceaux in Group 1 company at Punchestown.

Middleham-based Hammond has given Just Cameron time to come to hand this season, but the 32Red Casino Handicap Chase looks a tempting starting point for him. It won't be easy, but if he's anything like at his best, he should run a big race under regular rider Joe Colliver.

Hammond and Colliver also team up with TULLAMORE DEW in the £100,000 32RedSport.com Veterans Handicap Chase Final.

Although he celebrated his 14th birthday yesterday, Tullamore Dew races like a horse half his age. At Carlisle on his latest start last month he ran out a clear-cut winner.

A former high-class performer when trained by Nick Gifford, Tullamore Dew is far from finished yet. He relishes the mud and will have conditions to his liking at the Esher course to make a bold bid in this valuable event, which is restricted to horses aged ten and more.

The £40,000 Grade 2 Tolworth Novices' Hurdle has attracted a small, select field and preference is for WELSH SHADOW, trained by Dan Skelton, who is making rapid progress in the pecking order of Britain's top National Hunt operators.

A bumper winner at Wetherby last season, Welsh Shadow looked a horse going places when gaining a Listed victory at Haydock on his latest start. This race represents a step up in class, but it may not be beyond Welsh Shadow, who looks a horse with a bright future and who is awarded the nap vote.

The formidable partnership of Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh, who take on Welsh Shadow with Yorkhill, have another strong chance on the card with GITANE DU BERLAIS in the 32Red.com Mares' Hurdle.

Although defeated at Carlisle last time after being sent off favourite, the six-year-old now switches back to hurdles from fences. She is entitled to have a major say in this Listed contest, along with Polly Peachum, who made an encouraging return to action at Kempton last month.

Southwell's Flat meeting promises to start well for apprentice Lulu Stanford, who takes the mount on EXCELLENT AIM in the opening Bet & Watch Every Race At Unibet Handicap.

Trained by George Margarson, Stanford's boss, Excellent Aim was not at his best at Lingfield a few days ago over six furlongs, but he had previously scored here over the minimum distance with Stanford in the saddle. A return to five furlongs this afternoon promises to bring about a return to form.

Stillington trainer Ruth Carr has every chance of winning the Ladbrokes Mobile Handicap with DANISH DUKE, the mount of Tom Eaves, who became engaged on Boxing Day to former champion apprentice Amy Ryan, daughter of Hambleton trainer, Kevin Ryan.

Danish Duke has course-and-distance-winning form to his credit and has leading claims in this tight handicap, despite opposition from Antony Brittain's Grey Destiny, who provided apprentice Matthew Still with his first winner when scoring on this course last month.

MAMBO FEVER (12.50), who ran here last time behind Danish Duke, and the promising FAIR'S FAIr (3.10) are two others to note on this Fibresand circuit.
