ANOTHER WISE KID, winner of a valuable handicap at Ripon on Saturday, turns out again at Hamilton this afternoon in the feature race on the card.

North Yorkshire trainer Paul Midgley, aiming to strike while the iron is hot, reported yesterday that his sprinter had come out of his Ripon "bucking and kicking" and is happy to allow him to line-up in the £25,000 EBF Stallions Conditions Stakes, in which he finished second last year to Krypton Factor.

The seven-year-old faces a couple of useful rivals in Dark Emerald and Ballymore Castle but that pair might prefer further than this six furlongs, whereas Another Wise Kid will be very much at home over this distance.

Ridden at Ripon by Robert Winston, Another Wise Kid is napped to complete a quick double in the hands of Paul Mulrennan at Hamilton.

Richard Fahey, trainer of Ballymore Castle, can score on the card with ORTAC ROCK in the Jack Webster Classified Claiming Stakes.

The Malton gelding finished like the proverbial steam train to finish second at Ayr 12 days ago, beaten only half a length by Rock Canyon over five furlongs. This return to six furlongs will suit him better.

Fahey also has good prospects with BAHAMIAN C in the Sandy Struthers Handicap.

The mount of Sammy Jo Bell – who has found winners hard to come by since her momentous day in the Shergar Cup at Asco, where she completed a double against international riding opposition – Bahamian C has been running respectably without gaining much reward in his recent starts. Perhaps returning to Hamilton, where he has won in the past, will work the oracle for the four-year-old.

Bryan Smart, represented by Straightothepoint in the main race, can start the day with a winner courtesy of EXTORTION in the British Stallion Studs Maiden Stakes.

The juvenile has finished runner-up on all his three starts, most recently at Beverley when he chased home the smart Poet's Prize. He is fancied to step up under Fergal Lynch.

REGAL WAYS may prove the answer to the Join The Racing UK Racing Club Handicap.

Although a long-standing maiden, Mark Johnston's three-year-old appreciated the step up to 11 furlongs when third on this course last week. She is up another furlong here and is fancied to come good.

Johnston can also secure the Hamilton Park Apprentice Series Final Handicap with SUR EMPIRE.

The mount of the accomplished Louis Steward, Sur Empire went down fighting when second to Ainslie on this course last week after scoring in good style at Carlisle. She is on the upgrade.

At Bath, a note should be made of BABYFACT in the MJ Church 'Hands And Heels' Apprentice Series Handicap. The four-year-old has gained both her career wins on this course, most recently a couple of weeks ago when prevailing by a neck.

Babyfact tackles the same trip today and, with Georgia Cox in the saddle, is fancied to be competitive again for trainer Malcolm Saunders, who seems to specialise with sprinters.

Also worth keeping on the right side at Bath are recent winner AYLA'S EMPEROR (3.10) and the promising CALVANIST (3.40), who showed plenty of potential when fourth on his debut on Salisbury earlier in the month. He will be more streetwise this time.
