RICHARD Fahey, who enjoyed a sensational afternoon on Saturday, saddling six winners and claiming both the Ayr Gold and Silver Cups and the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury, aims to enjoy further success at Leicester and Hamilton this afternoon.

The Malton handler, whose Super Saturday enabled him to burst through the £3m prize money barrier for the season for the first time in his career, is now in second place in the trainers' championship. Furthermore, he stands on the threshold of his 200th winner and leads the field numerically in Britain.

Fahey has booked Paul Hanagan for a couple of juvenile fillies at Leicester this afternoon, Dancing Years and Curtain Call, who both have chances in the two divisions of the Aston Flamville Fillies' Nursery over six furlongs.

Dancing Years, who runs in the first division, has shaped well in two of her three starts in maiden company. She now looks poised to make her mark in handicap company. Curtain Call made a winning debut at Nottingham, but perhaps ran a little freely on this course on her latest start. She deserves a second chance to fulfil her debut promise.

Fahey also has good prospects with Stardrifter in the Highfields Handicap.

David Nolan's mount has finished second at Carlisle and Beverley since winning at Carlisle in mid-summer. He still looks to be progressing and this extended mile looks ideal for him.

Paul Hanagan looks set for a productive afternoon. Apart from his two Fahey-trained mounts, he is fancied to score on Massaat in the British Stallion Studs Kegworth Maiden Stakes.

The Barry Hills-trained youngster was beaten only a head at Sandown by the high-class Cymric on his debut. That was two months ago, and provided he lacks nothing in fitness for his comeback outing, he is entitled to take all the beating.

Gearoid Brouder, who is attached to Brian Ellison's stable, has come in for the ride on Shamahan in the Racing Excellence 'Hands And Heels' Apprentice Handicap. Fourth at Lingfield last time out, the gelding has a good chance of providing recently-retired top jockey Richard Hughes with his first winner as a trainer.

Fahey can also figure among the winners at Hamilton with Piccadilly Jim in the £10,000 totepool Hopes N Dreams Selling Stakes.

A model of consistency, the four-year-old was a winner at Pontefract in the summer and has since finished second a couple of times here. He is again teamed-up with Jack Garritty and is napped to come good.

Don Keyhoe Tay could be another Fahey-trained winner in the totetrifecta Pick The 1,2 3 Maiden Stakes.

Placed at Thirsk and Ripon on his two outings since joining Fahey from Johnny Murtagh in Ireland, the three-year-old faces a potent threat.

Mark Johnston was on the mark at Hamilton yesterday and the Middleham trainer can follow-up with First Party in the opening totepool Racing's Favourite Bet Nursery Handicap.

Successful first time out at Nottingham, First Party was beaten less than a length by Harmonic Wave over five furlongs at Musselbugh last week. This six furlongs should suit him even better.

Rock Canyon turns out quickly in the toteexacta Pick The Ist And 2nd Handicap (division one) after his win at Ayr last Thursday.

Linda Perratt's six-year-old has a 6lb penalty to carry, but this does not look quite as competitive a race and he looks to have a leading chance. Danny Tudhope is a significant booking. When he won on Rock Canyon at Ayr, it was his fourth winner from four rides this season for Perratt.
