GIDDY, who made a winning start to her career at Beverley last month, can double-up on the second day of Ayr's Western Meeting this afternoon.

Trained by Richard Fahey, the well-bred juvenile showed a professional attitude to win on her debut leaving the impression there was plenty more to come.

The Shadwell Stud Nursery Handicap is the next step for Giddy, who looks reasonably rated on a mark of 79 for her first handicap. She is fancied to score in the hands of Tony Hamilton and carries the nap vote.

Fahey, who began the meeting in winning style yesterday, has a whole host of useful chances this afternoon. In the opening two races, divisions of the Al Maktoum College Dundee/EBF Maiden Stakes, he saddles Prying Pandora and Constantino respectively. Both juveniles have shown enough promise to suggest they can go well, with Prying Pandora expected to relish the step up to seven furlongs in the opening leg.

Fahey has a bunch of runners in the William Hill Bronze Cup, the pick of which may be Supplicant, the mount of Paul Hanagan.

A Group 2 winner as a juvenile, Supplicant has found winning difficult since, but he has now dropped to a mark of 85 from a high of 110. It would be no surprise to see him bounce back to form from a high draw which promises to prove favourable.

The Shadwell Stud/EBF Stallions Harry Rosebery Stakes, which carries Listed status and £50,000 in prize money, is the feature race on the card. Darlington trainer Michael Dods could hold the key with Easton Angel, runner-up in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.

She has since finished in the money in classy affairs at Newmarket and York, both over six furlongs. Dods switches her back to the minimum trip this afternoon and is hopeful that this speedy filly can show her rivals a clean pair of heels.

Also worth noting are Noble Asset (3.40), trained by John Quinn and lining-up in a race he won last year, and David O'Meara's Saved By The Bell (4.50), who , although slightly disappointing at Doncaster last week, had previously run two excellent races at York. He will relish this extended two miles.

At Newbury, Special Season and Nathra are two juveniles to note as they attempt to fulfill the enormous promise they showed on their debut outings.

Trained by William Haggas, Special Season won by seven lengths at Sandown four weeks ago. He has more on his plate in the Haynes Hanson & Clark Conditions Stakes, but he looks an exciting colt up to the task. Pat Cosgrave rides.

John Gosden has charge of Nathra, who lines-up in the Dubai Duty Free Full Of Surprises Stakes. She won well at Salisbury a fortnight ago and looks a smart performer in the making. This race will tell us much more about her ability and potential. Frankie Dettori has the mount.

Auusie Andre, who ran so well against Richard Of Yorke at Ascot last time out, makes appeal for Jeremy Noseda and Jimmy Fortune, while Jallota (4.25), who found only Rene Mathis too strong in a valuable handicap at Goodwood last time. He now tackles Listed company.
