FOOTBALL is about to get bigger and better in Easingwold thanks to £300,000 of Football Foundation money.
Three new pitches, a brand new clubhouse and a car park will be built with the £337,696 pledged from the sports charity - and Easingwold are delighted that work on the £500,000-plus project can now get underway.
Club vice-chairman and fundraising co-ordinator Stuart Revell said: "This is wonderful news for all the community and rewards the dedication and enthusiasm of so many people.
"Over the last three years, we have grown into one of the largest football clubs in North Yorkshire with two senior teams, ten junior teams, a growing girls section and, in total, some 400-plus players and supporters.
"They all deserve the new facilities and it is hoped everything will be complete and in place by the start of the 2007 season."
