PREMIER division pair York RI and Keystones were dumped out of the York Minster Engineering Football League Senior Cup by lower ranked opposition.

RI struggled in the first half and conceded goals to Ben Richardson and Alex Yates (2) as division one Terrington Glory collected a notable 3-0 win to earn a home tie with Huntington Rovers. Fellow division one side Amotherby & Swinton beat hosts Keystones 4-1.

George Moore opened the scoring for the visitors and, before the break, Matty Turnbull doubled the advantage.

Though Jason Chapellow reduced the arrears, Amotherby confirmed their win with goals from Andy Metcalfe and Mikey Brown.

Copmanthorpe made it a hat-trick of wins over Wigginton as they came from a goal down to triumph 2-1 thanks to Chris Storey and Robin Bedford.

Danny Penrose celebrated his return to Dringhouses with two first-half goals as his team beat Wilberfoss 6-0.

Danny Snaith hit a second-half brace and the scoring was completed with an own goal and a Tom Bissett header.

’Keeper Chris Barrett saved a Wilberfoss penalty.

Tockwith booked their place in round two with a comprehensive 4-0 home win over Bishopthorpe.

Andy Walker scored a goal in each half to add to strikes from Graham Hutchison and Adam Fairhurst.

After a goalless 90 minutes, the Heworth versus Pocklington tie was settled on penalties, with Pocklington advancing into the next round.

Ryan O’Riley hit Hamilton Panthers’ goal in a 4-1 home defeat to Rowntrees, while holders Dunnington edged past Poppleton, winning 2-1. In the premier division, Riccall United beat hosts Easingwold Town 1-0 in a relegation six pointer.

Wayne Brook scored the vital goal on the hour mark.

Selby RSSC kept their slim promotion hopes alive in division one after Rob Friar hit the only goal to condemn visitors St Clement’s to their fifth away game without a win.
