FIVE-STAR Pickering Town left new Scarborough Athletic manager Rudy Funk with plenty to ponder after a stunning 5-0 victory.

The win moved the Pikes above their Mill Lane visitors and into ninth place in the Northern Counties East League premier division.

Jed Dalton opened the floodgates after only six minutes in front of a crowd of 534 and Josh Greening doubled the lead five minutes later.

Nathan Cook struck twice from the penalty spot, on 42 and 59 minutes, before Billy Logan rounded off the rout in the 68th minutes.

Tadcaster Albion slipped to fifth in the top flight after a 4-3 defeat by Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

Albion looked to be in control after 20 minutes as they led 2-0 through Callum Ward’s goal and a penalty from Tom Reid.

However, the visitors netted three times in 14 minutes through Ben Good (2) and Danny Brooks.

Terry Taylor put Tadcaster back on level terms on 73 minutes, but Railway’s winner came two minutes from time through Joshua Schofield.

Selby Town went down to two second half goals at Long Eaton, with Kevin Mabon scoring on 68 minutes and Martin Bowles adding a second in the final minute.

Ciaran Toner’s 78th minute goal secured a point for Harrogate Town as they drew 1-1 at Stafford Rangers in Blue Square Bet North.

Simon Parkes struck four minutes from time to earn Harrogate Railway a 3-2 win over Chorley in Evo-Stik League division one north.

Chorley took the lead six minutes in at Station View, but Jon Maloney levelled from the penalty spot ten minutes later.

Colin Hunter put the hosts ahead on 31 minutes and although Jack Dorney’s spot kick levelled things up, Parkes came up with the winner.
