A THUMPING 8-3 victory over Huntington Rovers sealed the York Minster Engineering Football League reserve ‘A’ title for Dunnington.

Dunnington have won all 14 of their fixtures this season to lead the table by 13 points, with a game in hand.

Both teams suffered goalkeeper problems, with Rovers travelling minus a recognised ’keeper while Dunnington saw theirs carried off after five minutes.

Andy Rhodes led the way for Dunnington with a hat-trick, Tom Wheatlands bagged two and Olly Ellwood, Will Pepper and Ross Wilkinson completed the tally.

Stephen Kendall, Craig Hodgsons and Chris Johnson replied for Huntington.

Second-placed Copmanthorpe were held to a 4-4 draw at home by Haxby. Andrew Manns, Josh Levitt, Sam O’Brien and Mike Wise were Cop’s scorers, while Haxby took a point with goals from Jason Kelly, Adam Kelly, Mike Taylor and Steve Fratson.

A hat-trick from Easingwold’s Matthew Hawkhead ensured that Bishopthorpe remained rooted to the bottom of the table. Simon Wilson sealed a 4-0 win.

Another hat-trick man was Old Malton’s Richard Stevenson in their 5-2 win over Wigginton Grasshoppers. Gary Puchard added a fourth and an own goal completed the Malton scoring. John Cavanagh and Ben Thompson replied.

Wilberfoss drew 3-3 with Heslington to move out of the reserve ‘B’ relegation places.

James Parkin, Matthew Burrows and Gary Milner scored for ’Foss.

Malton & Norton remain second in reserve ‘C’ despite losing 4-3 to Nestlé Rowntree.

Civil Service stayed second in reserve ‘D’ thanks to a last-minute winner from Mark Lund at Bishop Wilton. Lund had scored in the first half, but Billy Higgins levelled.
