Nestlé Flag hammered out a warning at the top of the Ian’s Cars of Barlby York Sunday Morning Football League first division.

They showed no mercy to anchor club Cliffe, rattling up a 12-2 triumph to remain five points clear.

Derwent United beat Selby Olympia 5-0 to move into second spot on goal difference.

Division two pacesetters Haxby Lions easily saw off York Nomads 7-1 led by an Adam Wash hat-trick, a Pete Dransfield brace and goals for Dave Thompson and Matthew Wash. Craig Hargreaves was the Nomads’ scorer.

Acomb Celtic kept in touch beating Hambleton 9-0. They ran riot after the break with eight unanswered goals. Sean Stockdale plundered four goals to add to efforts from Lee Powell (2), Joe Woof, Mark Benton and Mark Powell.

Third-placed Marcia Grey lost ground after falling 7-6 to Wigginton Grasshoppers.

Two goals each for Carl Stewart and Andy Mason gave Marcia a 4-2 lead going into the second period, where further strikes from Chris Murcott and Paul Harris looked liked securing the points.

But hat-tricks from brothers Tom and Ben Coates, plus a Luke Roberts strike, gave Grasshoppers their second win on the spin.

Copmanthorpe were 7-1 winners at Acorn, where the haul was shared between Terry Hibbert (3), Matt Bastock (2), Mike Wise and James Gilbertson.

Division three leaders Hambleton Lions lost for the second week running, this time 4-1 to Bishopthorpe, whose Mat Pallister, Rob Taylor, Andy Manns and Stuart Auton were on target.

Gary Collier hit six goals in Station’s 7-4 win at Shoulder of Mutton, the other from Craig Campbell. Shoulder replied through Tom Stewart, Ben Redpath, Neil Robertson and John Rodgers.

Led by four goals from Gregorz Mlezec, plus single strikes from Janos Takacs, Matty Curotto, Scott Shooter and Martin Petch, Selby RSSC beat Forest FC 8-1 in division four north.

Cueball Reserves beat Raskelf 5-1 thanks to efforts from from Nick Milner, Brian Ignjatovic, Craig Nicholl, James Potter and Rob James. Raskelf’s reply was a second-half Tom Hilling strike.

Division four south front-runners Dunnington recorded their tenth straight win by beating LNER Builders 6-1 and put them five points clear with a game in hand over nearest challengers Barlby FC, who toppled Acomb Albion with goals from Rob Baker (2), Martin Howson and Paul Hughes.

An Alex McKay hat-trick and Gary Rylance goal graced New Earswick’s 4-2 win over Turf Tavern.
