PICKERING Town’s players will be hoping to provide a tremendous tribute to chairman Tony Dunning when they travel to Northern Counties East League premier division leaders Scarborough Athletic tomorrow.

Goals from Paul Provins and Lyle Hillier ensured the Pikes won 2-1 at Lincoln Moorlands Railway on Wednesday night in the League Cup second round – their First match since Dunning’s death on Sunday left the club in deep mourning.

The players wore armbands as a mark of respect in that game and will don them again as they aim to dedicate another victory to the Bridge Street butcher’s memory against an Athletic team, who have wobbled recently with back-to-back defeats against Parkgate (4-3) and Teversal (2-1) in the cup on Tuesday night.

Pickering currently stand 14th but have won six of their last eight matches.

Elsewhere, fourth-placed Selby+Town%22+%2B%22Northern+Counties%22">Selby Town will welcome back Liam Radford for the trip to Winterton Rangers, who have lost four of their last five games.

Radford missed the 0-0 home draw with struggling Shirebrook Town due to work commitments but will be available tomorrow.

The Robins are hoping skipper Brenton Leister will recover from the ankle injury that has seen him miss the last two games, and Andrew Hart is also expected to be fit for a return.

Selby assistant manager Gary Cygan is calling for an improved display, saying: “We’re far too inconsistent at the moment. We should never have dropped points to Shirebrook.

“We created enough chances to win the game but could have even lost it when they had a glorious opportunity at the end.”

First division high-fliers Tadcaster+Albion%22">Tadcaster Albion, who beat Rossington Main 2-1 on Tuesday night thanks to Marc Thompson and Darren Brandon goals, are hoping to extend their 100 per cent home record to a fifth game when Worsbrough Bridge, who have lost their last five league fixtures, visit Ings Lane.

In the Blue Square North, fourth-bottom Harrogate Town play host to mid-table Alfreton Town.

Harrogate Railway, meanwhile, travel to UniBond League first division south hosts Shepshed Dynamo in the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy.
