Skelton pulled off a superb late comeback to reach the second round of the Ian’s Cars of Barlby Sunday Morning Football League Senior Challenge Trophy.

The first division side trailed 3-1 to Haxby+United%22">Haxby United with ten minute to go but won 4-3. Their scorers were James Robinson, Josh Leening, Neale Holmes and Ben Janes.

Pete Dransfield, Tom Matthews and Mark Godfrey had given Haxby real hope.

Alan Jackson, Tom Hogg and Michael Barnett all hit doubles as Hounds thrashed local rivals Selby+Olympia">Selby Olympia 8-1, and Pete Ladlaw also hit a brace as Nestlé Flag brushed aside Wiggington Grasshoppers 7-1.

Enterprise beat Albion Vaults 3-1, with two goals from Daniel Penrose, one a free-kick, and a strike from Mark Holt. Alan Howard had equalised for Vaults.

Cueball needed extra-time goals from Glenn Turner and Dave Chapman to beat Inland Revenue 4-2 having thrown away a two-goal first-half lead. Anthony Hewson and Amos Laverack had earlier scored, with Alistair Burn and Chris Dawson replying.

Ian Huddlestone hit four goals and Stuart Pea three as Hambleton Lions beat Acomb Athletic 9-1 in the Junior Challenge Trophy.

Bishopthorpe hit six second-half goals without reply to beat LNER Builders, who had led 1-0 at half-time, while Gypsy Moth also scored six times but needed extra time to beat Forest FC 6-4.

Jamie Moore hit four goals and Jamie Dawes two as Leeman United beat The Fox 8-4, Mike Holmes and Andy Dobson both netting twice for the losers, while Ben Cadd scored twice as Raskelf beat Dinamo Megahorse 4-0.

Luke Zacharenko led the way with a hat-trick as Hemingbrough saw off Linton-on-Ouse 7-1, while Neil Robertson and Paul Crangle hit doubles as Shoulder of Mutton beat Turf Tavern 5-2, Jonathon Gargan getting both replies.

Gary Rylance scored three in New Earswick’s 5-3 win over Cueball Reserves, while James Darlison was Cawood’s two-goal hero in their 2-1 win over Dunnington 2-1.

In division one, Dave Bradshaw bagged five in Derwent United’s 6-1 mauling of Severus, while Wanderers beat Cliffe 3-2 with goals from Gary Newton, Dale Phillips and Darren Brandon, Cliffe replying through Ash Lattimore and Graham Stewart.

Acomb Celtic made it three wins out of three in division two with a 4-0 victory over Copmanthorpe, Lee Powell and Sean Stockdale scoring a brace each, while Nick McBride also hit two as Marcia Grey thumped hosts Hambleton 6-0 St John’s remain unbeaten in division three after battering Britannia Tadcaster 11-1, Graham Bell (3) with a treble leading the rout.
