LAST year’s F1 Racing Sunday Football League Champions Severus were put to the sword by leaders Nestlé Flag.
The table-toppers won 4-0 with goals from Chris Dyson, Steven Rambridge and an Ashley Hill double to open up a nine-point gap over their nearest rivals.
Ainsty Panthers moved into second spot after a late goal from Ian McKellow sealed a 4-3 win over Wanderers. Goals from Paul Bedingham and Danny Coulson saw Wanderers lead 2-1 at the break with Matty Wain replying.
In the second half, goals from Luke Ibbetson and a second for Wain brought Panthers back into the game with Gary Newton hitting the target for Wanderers to make it 3-3 before McKellow hit the winner.
Pocklington increased their lead in division two with a easy 8-1 win over bottom club Edward VII.
On target were Ash Newton (4), Ryan Tait (2), Charlie Bond and Dan Boneham.
Bishopthorpe put a dent in Enterprise’s promotion hopes with a 5-1 win. On target for the villagers were Matty Howden, Jack Hulse and Rob Taylor with a hat-trick.
Cawood head division three after a 4-2 win at Shoulder of Mutton graced by goals from James Darlison (3) and Andy Cronian.
With games in hand on the leaders, Acomb brushed aside FC Barlby 7-2 with goals from Leigh Dutton, Chris Ellerker, Steve Abbott, Joel Bailey, Danny Wood and a Lee Goddard brace.
The clash between first and second in division four saw leaders Hambleton Lions take the points after a Steve Matthews hat-trick secured a 3-1 win over Station.
