KNOCKOUT specialists Severus booked a final clash with Nestlé Flag in the Grand Central Challenge Trophy.

The semi-finals of the York F1 Racing Premier Karting Sunday Morning Football League competition saw Severus beat Enterprise 2-1 thanks to goals from Nick Hutchinson and Lee Atkinson, from the penalty spot.

Flag beat Ainsty Panthers 1-0 with striker Chris Dyson finally breaking the deadlock with ten minutes remaining.

In the Junior Challenge Trophy semi-finals, Acorn beat Turf Tavern 4-0 with second half goals from Leigh Dutton, Luke Richardson, Chris Ellerker and Dave Aide.

St John will take on Acorn in the final after the students beat Acomb WMC 3-0 thanks to goals from Michael Warnes, James Hartlet and Danny Cowton.

Meanwhile, second-placed Thorpe lost out on the chance to close the gap on division one leaders Nestlé Flag. They went down 2-0 to Wanderers, whose scorers were Danny Coulson and Paul Beddingham.

Derwent United lost 3-1 at home to in-form Hounds despite leading 1-0 at the break with an Andrew Slaughter strike.

Skelton eased their relegation fears with a 4-1 win at Hambleton after goals from Mark Pipe, Shaun Robinson, James Barrett and Neale Holmes. Graham Parker netted Hambleton’s reply.
