DUNNINGTON underlined their York Minster Engineering League premier division title credentials with a 2-1 defeat of rivals Old Malton St Mary’s.

It was a win which now leaves them three points behind leaders Huntington Rovers with a game in hand and superior goal difference. Dan Andrew and Robert Chipps were on the mark to give Dunnington the all-important points.

Fourth-placed Riccall United lost ground on the leaders, drawing 1-1 at Harrison Signs. Josh O’Neill struck to put the visitors ahead before Lee Powell headed home from a corner to equalise for the hosts.

Only a point separated York RI and F1 Racing in the table at the start and end of the day as the two sides played out a free-scoring 3-3 draw.

An end-to-end game saw RI take the lead early on through a Liam Stilgoe penalty before F1 drew level with an Adam Tiffany goal.

York RI went in front again just before the break thanks to Danny Gray and held the advantage until Chris Dempsey levelled with ten minutes to go.

F1 looked to have snatched it at the death with a 90th minute Liam King goal, but a stoppage time penalty from Darren Sellars meant both sides took an even share of the spoils.

Church Fenton White Horse climbed back up to seventh in the table following a 3-0 success over Osbaldwick.

Tadcaster Magnets continued their recent run of good form with a 2-1 win over Dringhouses. Emilio Triumbari and Philip Smith netted for Magnets while Joe Rawcliffe struck the consolation for Dringy.

Malton and Norton continued their promotion charge as the division one leaders gained a 4-1 over York St John University.

Matty Reeves and Steve Twamley bagged to give Malton and Norton a 2-0 half-time lead, with Brandon Read and Scott Preston rounding off the scoring after a brief period of revival had seen the students find the net.

Poppleton won 2-0 at Hemingbrough United to move up to fourth place.

Division three table-toppers Barmby Moor gained an important 3-1 success over second-placed Thorpe United to move four points clear at the summit. Liam Booth fired a brace for the hosts with Curtis Barker adding the third. Jordan Emery found the net for Thorpe.

A Josh Winn hat-trick was the highlight of Strensall’s 4-1 win at Bishopthorpe. Joe Davidson added the away side’s fourth to round off the triumph.

Bubwith FC provided a shock result in division four - a 6-3 win at fourth placed Rufforth United moving the club off the foot of the table.

Adam Brooke, Jamie Kirby and Liam Keenaghan bagged for the home side but it was all in vain as Andy Stone’s five goal haul eclipsed their efforts. His brother, Adam, put the finishing touches on a much-needed win.

Heworth Green are now more than half-way through their division four season and are still to drop a point after 12 games.

A 5-3 success over Pollington moved them ever closer to division three status. Dan Marshall fired a hat-trick, with John Moore and Jericho Keys also making the score sheet. Mark Baguley (2) and Stuart Harrison replied for Pollington.

The Raj maintained their unbeaten run thanks to Dan Hunter’s second successive hat-trick. After missing an early penalty, The Raj went in at half-time with a 2-1 advantage over Wetherby Athletic before Hunter completed his treble with a sublime 18-yard volley.

Wetherby pulled it back to 3-2 and hit the post twice in an enthralling finish but the home side held firm to claim the points.

AFC Crayke won 3-2 against Settrington. Alan Boyd scored with a looping cross and Nial Scott netted a cool finish for Crayke, who also had an unfortunate own goal to thank for their victory.
