BUBWITH White Swan upset title challengers Quakerwood in the only game in York Sunday Morning League division one last weekend.
White Swan defeated their hosts 4-3 after a remarkable contest.
The away team flew into a three-goal half-time lead with strikes from Cohen Vause, Simon Houlder and Jamie Sedman, but Carl Stewart hit a hat-trick to level things up with ten minutes remaining.
However, there was yet one more twist in the game as a late penalty from Graham Stewart handed Bubwith the win and propelled them up to third place in the table, three points behind their opponents.
NUR moved level on points with York Phoenix at the top of division two following a 3-0 victory over Beeswing.
After a goalless first half, goals from Ben Spencer, Jason Newman and Aiden Ward were enough to claim the points.
Third-placed Cliffe gained a convincing victory over Selby Olympia as four goals from Adrian Wood and a hat-trick from Nathan Parker saw them emerge as 7-1 victors. Tom Lazenby bagged the consolation goal.
Elsewhere, a strike from Joe Brennan wasn't enough for Wentworth as they crashed 3-1 at home to York Medics.
