TADCASTER Albion saw their lead trimmed to nine points at the top of the Northern Counties East League premier division as they drew 1-1 with Bridlington Town.

Second-placed Staveley Miners Welfare beat Heanor Town 3-2 and Shaw Lane Aquaforce, in third, thrashed Maltby Main 11-0 to keep up the pressure.

Striker Danny Gray, who recently returned to the Brewers from Selby Town, salvaged a point on 57 minutes after Chris Jenkinson had given the Ings Lane visitors a 19th-minute lead.

Pickering Town moved up to 12th in the premier division table with a 4-1 win over Retford United at Mill Lane.

Robbie Hawkes set Tony Hackworth’s men on the road to victory, scoring with long range strikes in the tenth and 34th minutes.

Billy Logan got the third on 81 minutes and Jordan Outerbridge added a fourth on 89 minutes, before Adam Lee scored a last- minute consolation for Retford.

Selby Town picked up their first league win since November 11 as they beat Lincoln Moorlands Railway 3-2 in division one.

The Robins, left fuming after last weekend’s Flaxley Road fixture between the sides was called off at late notice, had to come from behind after George Asplin’s ninth- minute opener for the hosts.

Chris Jackson levelled on 28 minutes and, after Dane Mortimer had added a second on 56 minutes, the striker netted a third goal on 70 minutes. Jon Wren pulled a goal back for Railway with 16 minutes remaining, but Dave Ricardo’s men took the points.

Mitch Hamilton scored twice for Knaresborough Town but the hosts had to settle for a 2-2 home draw with Worsbrough Bridge Athletic in division one.

Hamilton struck two minutes into the game and, after Danny Cawley scored for Worsbrough, he added a 31st minute penalty. However, Cawley levelled on 86 minutes.

Nathan Cartman scored his 29th goal of the campaign as Harrogate Railway Athletic beat Ossett Albion 2-1 at Station View in Evo-Stik League division one north.

It took Cartman only three minutes to net for sixth-placed Railway and Malachi Farquharson made it 2-0 on 12 minutes.

Ross Hardaker pulled a goal back on 24 minutes for Albion, who had Lewis Trice sent off in the last minute.

Fifth-placed Scarborough Athletic beat visitors Spennymoor Town 1-0 with a 32nd minute goal from ex-York City player Jimmy Beadle.

Harrogate Town lost 2-0 at home to Hednesford in Conference North.
