WHO can stop Tadcaster Albion running away with the Northern Counties East League Premier division?

The Brewers are in scintillating form, following up a 7-0 annihilation of Liversedge by going to Armthorpe Welfare on Tuesday night and sticking double figures past their hapless opponents.

Hat-tricks from Carl Stewart and Jonathan Greening along with a Joe Barratt brace and goals for Vincent Dhesi and David Brown saw Albion rack up ten goals without reply and go nine points clear of Shaw Lane Aquaforce at the top of the table.

It looks like it could be a difficult afternoon for Saturday's visitors to Ings Lane, an Albion Sports side that are already 20 points behind their opponents. But Taddy boss Paul Marshall has declared there will be no complacency among his men as they bid to forge ever further clear at the summit.

"After Saturday, I said the hardest thing about winning 7-0 was to try and replicate that," he said. "That's what good teams can do and we went and bettered it. That was the really pleasing thing. It's difficult to put two performances like that together.

"The problem now is managing against complacency. You can't get complacent. If you take your foot off the gas for a second you will come a cropper. I won't be complacent and went to see Albion Sports against Athersley.

"It is a massive test of my management. The quality of the players we have is so good that you have to manage expectation and make sure they are fully focused."

Marshall's strength in depth was shown in Barrett's two goals. He came into the team with striker Callum Ward having suffered a reaction to antibiotics. With Dhesi and Brown also having shown form from the substitutes bench, the Brewers boss has difficult team selection decisions to make.

"I've got all the subs," Marshall added. "It's going to be tough on Saturday but all the players know there is going to be slight rotation. We want to keep everyone happy. They all understand that, which is a good thing.

"We know we don't weaken the team when anyone else comes into a starting position. Denny Ingram is suspended for three games but Andy Milne is back. Our captain, Nick Thompson, has missed the last two games and we have scored 17 goals."

Selby Town's Jekyll and Hyde season will hopefully find some consistency when the Robins entertain league leaders AFC Emley at Flaxley Road in NCEL division one.

Manager David Ricardo's men have struggled to put two performances together at any point during the campaign and, after a disappointing 4-2 defeat at Yorkshire Amateur at the weekend, they stayed true to form with a completely contrasting display in a 3-1 win over Louth Town on Tuesday night.

Liam Wilkin, making his long-awaited debut after injury, scored a brace, while Matty Start's goal five minutes before the break put them three goals to the good. Now they must try to build on that against high-flying Emley, who have lost just three times all season.

Pickering Town are without a game in the NCEL premier division. Knaresborough Town are at Rossington Main in NCEL division one. Harrogate Town, whose three game winning streak was ended last Sunday at Gloucester City, look to get back to winning ways when Hyde Town visit Wetherby Road in Conference North.

Harrogate Railway cross the Pennines on a EvoStik League first division north road trip to Salford City while Scarborough Athletic, still on the hunt for a new boss following the departure of Rudy Funk, are at Radcliffe Borough.
