ABOUT 60 cyclists took part in York-based Clifton Cycling Club's annual reliability ride.
The riders left Exhibition Square for the 100 kilometre-plus ride, taking in steep climbs through Crayke, Ampleforth and Helmsley, then on to Malton and Birdsall, before dropping back down onto flat roads for the finish at Stockton on Forest.
Just over half the entrants were from the host club, while local teams Obri Ciaching, Malton Wheelers and Triangle RT were well represented.
The youngest Clifton finisher was 16-year old Matt Shipley, while the oldest rider award went to 73-year-old Alan Waddilove, from Pocklington.
Clifton maintained their Hull connection at the club's annual general meeting, electing their third president with a birthplace in that city.
Bernard Turgoose has stepped into the role for a two-year term, taking the chain of office from Mick McCormick, whose two years in office have seen the 112-year-old club go from from strength to strength.
