A BUSY weekend of action awaits York Cricket Club.

The Clifton Parkers play two Solly Sports Yorkshire ECB County premier division encounters tomorrow and Monday and, in between, travel to Driffield for the opening qualifying rounds of a Twenty20 competition.

First up tomorrow are Scarborough at home, with table-topping York looking to extend their 11-point lead at the summit.

Scarborough are mid-table and, ironically, the two sides will meet again just a day later in York’s first match of the Solly Sports T20 competition at Driffield.

Following that match against the Seasiders, captain Marcus Wood and his men will then play the hosts before concentrating on their trip to Castleford on Bank Holiday Monday.

A fairly settled side, with only minor changes, will represent York at all three fixtures – the spine of the team based around Duncan Snell, Oliver Hairs, Liam McKendry, Nick Kay and Tom Pringle.

Vice-captain Dan Woods will play in both the league encounters, but will step aside for the Twenty20.

Wicket-keeper Nigel Durham also makes way for young glovesman Ben Earl at Driffield while bowler Richard Love will be called into the 12-man T20 squad too.
