ALEX Lees and Adam Lyth have both hit unbeaten half-centuries as Yorkshire press ahead of Durham on day three at Headingley in their Specsavers County Championship Division One clash.

Lees and Lyth have shared a first-wicket stand of 151 in 37 overs since lunch.

Yorkshire started their second innings with a lead of 195, which is now 346 with 32 overs remaining in the day.

Lees reached 50 off 66 balls before Lyth matched him off 68.

Lees is on course to become the first man ever to score two hundreds in a first-class match at Headingley, while Lyth could reach 1,000 Championship runs for the season before a declaration later on.

Lees has 66 and Lyth 83, needing 17 more for his 1,000.
