RAIN has hit The Oval, meaning only one over was possible during the first afternoon between Yorkshire and Surrey.
The champions are aiming to bounce back from only their third Specsavers County Championship Division One defeat in the last two-and-a-half seasons - against Middlesex at Scarborough.
Azeem Rafiq conceded 13 in the first and last over of the afternoon, including two fours to Zafar Ansari, who has 35 of 95-2 from 33 overs. Aaron Finch is also unbeaten on 34.
Tea was taken early at 3.10pm but there was no further play an hour after that had finished.
