YORKSHIRE are in danger of losing their fourth straight limited-overs match this season after being bowled out for 170 by Worcestershire in today’s Royal London One-Day Cup opener at Headingley.
Only Gary Ballance made it to 30 after Alex Lees had won the toss, with Tim Bresnan’s 24 being the next best.
Pace off the ball did the trick for Worcestershire, with debutant off-spinner George Rhodes, the son of Worcester coach Steve, taking 2-34 from his ten overs.
New-ball seamer Jack Shantry’s wily deliveries also accounted for 2-10 from 7.2 overs, Brett D’Oliveira’s leg-spinners took 2-49 from ten and Joe Leach 2-30 from nine.
Seven Yorkshire batsmen made it to double figures on a tacky pitch, with a number of them culpable for their own dismissal.
At the end, Bresnan was jeered by a minority of the home crowd for refusing singles with Steve Patterson - the last man - at the other end.
