YORKSHIRE are defending a target of 349 against Lancashire as they bid to win their second Specsavers County Championship match of the season.
The champions are in control of this Roses match at Headingley, even though they have yet to strike in Lancashire’s chase, with them reaching tea at 21-0 from eight overs.
Yorkshire lost three wickets after lunch, two of them to left-arm spinner Simon Kerrigan, as they were bowled out for 236.
Those were Adil Rashid and Liam Plunkett, for 34 and 57 respectively, after they had shared a superb 74 partnership for the ninth wicket inside 23 overs.
Conditions are ideal for bowling at Headingley, although Tom Smith and Haseeb Hameed remain unbeaten.
