Yorkshire are under the cosh against Somerset at Headingley at tea on day two.
Nick Compton and Marcus Trescothick have both hit half-centuries in a commanding reply of 196-2 from 57 overs to 253.
While Trescothick made 66, Compton is 85 not out and Tom Abell unbeaten on 29.
Trescothick and Compton shared 108 for the second wicket, with the only wicket to fall in the afternoon Trescothick caught at slip off Joe Root’s third balls. The Yorkshire skipper has only bowled one over.
