HIGHLY-RATED teenager Liam McKendry top-scored for the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League Under-21s in their friendly win over the Scarborough Beckett League.
The Thirsk opener hit 53 as York passed the Scarborough total of 192-5 in 40 overs for the loss of only five wickets at Folkton & Flixton.
Rob Pinder played a superb innings of 102 not out for Scarborough, reaching a century by hitting a straight six off the final delivery of the innings.
McKendry and Casey Rudd raced to 39 off the first four overs to spearhead York’s reply and they eventually won with 11 overs to spare.
York’s Carl Blundell made 34 down the order for the visitors.
