THE York & District Senior Cricket League's Under-21s side cruised into round two of the Heron White Rose Yorkshire Trophy with an eight-wicket win over Central Yorkshire League at Ossett.
Thirsk's Stuart Christon bowled a miserly spell to finish with 2-16, Grant Nicholson, of Carlton Towers, took 3-17 and Beverley's James Emery took 2-26 as the Central Yorkshire League closed on 142 in the 35th over.
In reply, Thirsk's Liam McKendry and Sam Drury, of Driffield, put on 89 for the first wicket, with Drury out first for 69. Andrew Anderson, of Woodhouse Grange, made 22no and Thirsk's Sean Holmes 33no to see them win with 17 overs to spare.
