DRINGHOUSES' Andy Simpson was one of three centurions in Hunters York & District Senior League division one.

Simpson scored 112 and his opening partnership with Chris Evans (67) paved the way to an imposing 286-6 at Hornsea. However, the hosts fought back to ensure a share of the points with half-centuries from Paul Clappison (50), Mark Battye (62) and Chris Charles (53no) reaching 206-8. Tom Store was the pick of the bowlers on either side taking 4-50.

Hull Zingari are top of the table after an unbeaten century from Matthew Bunn (115no) helped secure victory over Beverley Town.

Alex Dale (47no) and Jack Storey (41) also made telling contributions which allowed the hosts to chase down Town’s 239-9 in which Andy Burton (86) top scored and Storey finished with 3-50.

Folkton & Flixton were the only other team to take maximum points from the second round of matches as they scored a comprehensive victory over Selby by 200 runs.

Richard Malthouse (121no) scored an unbeaten century and Tom Norman 84 and the total was further boosted by some devastating hitting by Will Norman who made an unbeaten 52 off just 17 balls.

Only Alex Bowden (45) offered any resistance after the break as Harry Walmsley (7-23) and Tom Norman (3-12) combined to bowl out their opponents for 92.

Both Hull and Knaresborough secured draws with last wicket pairs at the crease.

Steve Lawrence took the plaudits for a fine all round performance of 34 and 3-22, but it was team-mate Joel Johnson who top scored for Heworth as they got the better of things against Hull.

Dave Girling (62) helped secure a share of the points for Knaresborough in a local derby against Harrogate.

Will Topham (42) and Cooper Smith (39no) helped Harrogate reach 207-7 with Graeme Whiles taking 3-52 for the hosts. Girling’s second half-century in as many weeks provided the foundation for the home side’s reply which would eventually reach 170-9.

Sewerby left Ripon having had the best of a draw thanks in part to an unbeaten 85 from Chris Mann who helped the visitors reach 259-7. The hosts replied with 203-6.
