SHERIFF Hutton Bridge II failed to put the brakes on new leaders Ripon in Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League Galtres division two.

Gary Blackburn had scored 112 as the home side chalked up 214-5 but SHB II were bowled out for 116 (Robert Stevens 41) and lost by 98 runs.

Ripon moved into first place and replaced Pannal who relinquished top spot by one point as they were unable to bowl out visitors Hovingham (160-6).

Rob Smith (98) fell just short of a ton as he helped Pannal post 258-7 only to see Hovingham hold out in a rain affected contest.

Harry Collinson was unbeaten on 84 and played the lead role in Thirsk chasing down the 150-7 set by near neighbours Easingwold II. Skipper Mark Cook hit 35 as Thirsk ran out winners by 9 wickets.

Mark Jackson hit 106 as Sessay II (218-7) set up a match winning score at Thorp Arch & Boston Spa. Jackson then took 4-45, including the wicket of TABS top scorer Luke Kilby (45), as they were bowled out for 173.

Duncombe Park returned from Woodhouse Grange II (118-4) virtually empty handed after Alex Burton took 5-15 to help bowl them out for 114. Robert Daniel top scored with 35 as the home side won by six wickets.

Tyrone Naude bagged 4-48 for Tadcaster Magnet as they shot out visiting Wetherby for 124. In reply Magnets (128-6) lost six wickets as they took maximum points to stay in touch with the leading pair.

In division three, Stillington (90-1) retained their position at the top after a comfortable nine-wicket win at home to Tadcaster Magnet II (89-10). Daniel Cass (3-15) helped bowl out the visitors for 89 before Steve Crowder saw them home with an unbeaten 43 runs.

Des Wyrill was unbeaten on 29 as Woodhouse Grange III closed at 125-8 at New Earswick who won by four wickets when they reached 127-6 to take full points.

Luke Whitaker (30*) and skipper Chris Smith (32*) put together a winning partnership to see their side through to victory.

Ian Clish (46) and Phil Northing (39) were the main contributors in setting a total of 137-9 for Civil Service II at home to Rowntrees & Huntington (138-3).

However, visiting batsman John Dowd was again in the runs as his 72 helped steer his side home by 7 wickets.

Steve Jones hit 60, Kallum Ahmed 49, and Tom Backhouse 48 for York IV as they racked up a massive 241-4 at home to Heworth III, who they bowled out for 127 to win by 114 runs.

In division four, Huby II beat hosts Duncombe Park II by 13 runs. Batting first Huby scored 179-7. Owen Cowton (42) top scored for the home team as they were bowled out for 166.

Osbaldwick II had a convincing 102 run win against Stillington II as Louis Morton (47*), Ed Baldwin (38), and Phil Hall (30) helped them to 197-7.

Neil Haines top scored with 55 for the visitors who were bowled out for 95 thanks to Ed Baldwin (3-1) and Michael Thompson (3-3).

Hovingham II cruised to a 10 wicket win at home to Copmanthorpe II who they had bowled out for 105. In reply, Richard John (43*) and Alistair Thorpe (45*) took Hovingham II onto 108-0.
