ALL-rounder Jack Hugill led the way as Sheriff Hutton Bridge II beat Sessay II in the Hunters York and District Senior Cricket League Galtres division two.

Hugill scored 42 runs as his side reached 185-6 and then took 3-8 with the ball as the visitors finished on 113-8.

Duncombe Park (145-5) took full points as they beat visitors Thirsk (144-10) by five wickets.

Tadcaster Magnet (146-10) took the lion’s share of the points against Woodhouse Grange II (135-9)

The top of the table clash between leaders Ripon and second place Pannal, meanwhile, was abandoned with Ripon on 38-2 chasing Pannal’s first innings 184-6.

In Galtres division three, Stillington (137-6) were unable to chase down a first innings target of 180-8 set by hosts Sheriff Hutton despite John Milburn scoring 34.

Ian Clish and Phil Northing had the main say in the Civil Service's win at Dringhouses. Northing (6-30) struck with the ball as the hosts were shot out for 80 while Clish score 53 to help his side win by three wickets.

There was a rare low scoring tie in Galtres division four between Stillington II and visitors Hovingham II.

Stillington were initially bowled out for 98 as Paul Higginbotham took three wickets for 15 runs.

Although Higginbotham weighed in with 32 in the second innings, Mike Coles took 3-30 and Neil Haines 3-16 as Hovingham were shown the door for 98.

Players from both sides scored centuries as Osbaldwick II beat Copmanthorpe II by 68 runs

Nigel Rippon hit 152 as Osbaldwick posted 266-6 before Joel Arnold scored 104 for Copmanthorpe who were bowled out for 198 after Andy Hall took 5-25 and James Jacques 4-42.

Carlton Towers returned to the top of Ebor division two after inflicting a convincing defeat on York III.

Towers' middle order batsman Mark Holmes fell four runs short of a century as York were set a target of 233-6. Only two York batsmen reached double figures as they were bowled out for 75 within 32 overs.

Dringhouses (159-6) beat a depleted Hemingbrough (157-9) team as the home side struggled to put up a decent score against a tight bowling spell by Mick Kenyon (3-24). Matty Clark hit 49 but the visitors were guided home by Tom Owen’s unbeaten 70.

Heworth II (144-3) enjoyed a seven-wicket victory at Malton & Old Malton II (144-10) thanks to an impressive all-round performance from Guy Wilkinson who scored 36 not out before taking 3-19.

Acomb II (195-8) had to settle for the bulk of the points against Pickering II after Scott Nicholls (71) and Freddy Littlewood (35 no) helped set a challenging score. Pickering scored 128-8 and hung on for a draw.

At North Marine Road, Neil Elvidge (132) hit his second century in successive matches as Scarborough II chalked up 240-7 at home to Yapham who hung on at 114-9.

In Ebor division three, leaders Stamford Bridge (93-10) were beaten at Londesborough Park II (124-7) after Tom Williamson bagged 4-18 for the home side.

Simon Franks (80 n.o) continued his fine form for Goole II (177-3) as they beat hosts Pocklington II (173-9) by seven wickets.

Selby II (200-8) had to be content with an incomplete win against visiting Castleford (148-7).

Copmanthorpe (137-10) lost by three wickets as Sean Pickles hit 48 for Whitkirk II (138-7)

Heworth IV lost a low scoring encounter against Drax in Ebor division four.

Drax took all the points after Heworth were bowled out for 64. Stephen Ryan was unbeaten on 42 as Drax won by nine wickets.

Carlton Towers II (83-10) suffered a heavy defeat at North Duffield (215-7) after James Knibb (50 no), David Buckley (38), and Jamie Pickles (35) had helped set up a substantial target and later Josh Carline (4-18) bagged vital wickets.

Thorp Arch & Boston Spa II (125-2) inflicted an eight-wicket win onto Woodhouse Grange IV (121-9) after Oliver Riley (3-21) and Rob Williams (3-28) led the way with the ball.
