WHITKIRK and Harrogate remained locked together at the top of Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League division one table after both recorded third successive victories.

Whitkirk made short work of defeating Sewerby by nine wickets.

Having chosen to bat, the visitors were soon in trouble as Mark Murphy (5-15) and Simon Webb (3-24) took control, only Scott Cooper (27) making any impression in a total of 85 all out.

Webb capped a fine all-round performance with an unbeaten 47 to see his side over the line.

Harrogate had an all-round display from Ashley Griffin to thank as they beat Malton & Old Malton by two wickets.

His 62 held things together and, with the help of Richard Burcher (34), saw the visitors reach 180-8 in reply to the hosts' 176 which included 53 from Tom Harrison and was restricted by Griffin’s 4-41.

Hornsea sit just below the top two after they missed out on maximum points despite scoring 326-4 at home to Folkton & Flixton.

Paul Clappison (114) hit a century and a partnership of 111 for the second wicket with Alastair Kirk (30) laid the foundation for Jonathan Fisher (47), Mark Battye (57no) and Richard Medforth (39no) to attack, the latter pair adding an unbroken 104 for the fifth wicket.

Anthony Stones (71) and Matthew Nesfield (66no) replied with half-centuries for the visitors but five wickets from Douglas Griebenouw (5-43) meant they were never likely to chase down the target, finishing on 266-8.

Bridlington opened their account with a 63-run win at Osbaldwick, Richard Lount top-scoring with 60 in a total of 164, despite James Smith's outstanding figures of 5-11.

Matthew Hattee made 40 for the hosts but the innings was dominated by Grant Hutton (4-19) and Harry Burnhill (3-17) as they combined to dismiss the home side for 101.

Four wickets each from Matthew Saint (4-14) and Sam Welburn (4-29) set up Beverley Town’s first victory of the season as visitors Pocklington were bowled out for 118 of which Harry Collins provided 37. Harry Gamble made 32 in reply as the hosts took less than 26 overs to reach their target.

Selby are still searching for their first win after losing to Patrington by five wickets.

The hosts were all out for 149, Jack Eggett taking 4-35. Ashley Mckinley then struck an unbeaten 63 for the visitors as they sealed back-to-back victories.

Carlton Towers took the opportunity to go top of Ebor division two after fellow high-fliers Scarborough II failed to chase down their fairly modest total of 137.

Harrison Wood took 6-46 for Boro but, having scored 64 during Carlton's innings, Matthew Torn then claimed 5-21 to skittle the visitors for 72.

Skipper Tom Collins turned in another fine all-round performance as Hemingbrough chased down Acomb II’s first innings 198-5 for the loss of four wickets.

Despite Paul Hemingway (51), Alex Topham (40) and Paul Neal (48 not out) giving visiting Acomb a solid score, Collins backed up his 3-36 with a 75-ball 77 as his side cruised home with almost ten overs to spare.

Heworth II (149-8) set hosts Clifton Alliance II 150 to win, with William Huffer (66) top scoring before becoming one of Mike Thompson’s four victims.

Nick Hindle hit four maximums in his unbeaten 75 as he led Clifton home inside 26 overs.

Yapham had a convincing win at Londesborough Park, knocking over their visitors for 75 after setting them 214 to win.

Jack Holman hit an unbeaten 75 in Yapham’s 213-7, before an inspired Jonathan Flint (5-34) helped shoot out their hosts in 20 overs.

Dringhouses had a convincing 119-run win over Malton & Old Malton II.

Sam Lingard (78) and Andrew Simpson (52) took them to 206-8 - before the Ryedale outfit were bowled out for 87.

At Clifton Park, York III had an even bigger winning margin after Toby Cleminson (176no) and Ben Horseman (73no) put on 211 in a massive total of 318-2 declared with two overs extra for Pickering II to use.

Leslie Welburn (43) top scored for the Pikes, who were cleaned up for 127.

Pannal continued their unbeaten run in Galtres division two with an incomplete win at Thorp Arch & Boston Spa.

John Strover made 87 not out and the Ellis brothers Rob (69) and Andy (59) saw the visitors post a big target at 297-4.

TABS tried to chase it down, led by Ethan Parson's unbeaten 42, but ultimately had to hang on to a draw at 248-9.

James Skelton hit 65 for Duncombe Park (160) at home to Ripon, but the visitors (161-5) took the honours with overs to spare led by Gary Blackburn (32) and Andrew Lincoln (42no).

In the derby at Sessay, visiting Easingwold took the bulk of the points as their total of 183-5 proved enough, Sessay ending on 171-8, led by Matthew Wass (38) and Yorkshire’s Jess Watson (29).

Tadcaster Magnet (124-4) left Sheriff Hutton Bridge (123) with maximum points after Simon Palmer (52no) and Phil Smith (37no) led them home.

Earlier former Rowntrees & Huntington man Robert Stevens (50) and Nick Scaling (33) had been the mainstay in the Bridge batting which had been undone by Nadeem Shefta’s 5-41.

Sam Beales (51no) helped Woodhouse Grange II to a nine-wicket win at Thirsk, who had Kieran Fenwick (48) to thank for their 119-9.

Hovingham won by 84 runs at Wetherby, with Richard Bowling (37 and 4-40) putting in a fine all-round display. The hosts were all out for 109, Hov skipper Stephen Mosey taking a miserly 4-13.
