SESSAY recorded a six-wicket win at Pickering in division one of the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.

Pickering batted first and posted a target of 184-9 thanks to runs from Colin Frank (48) and Steve Smith (38).

Sessay skipper Steve Langstaff took 3-52 and was then able to relax and watch as Luke Ramsay hit 58 and Tim Hall 38 to set up a victory.

Matt Till’s 41 not out saw Sessay home, while Mark Shepherd took 3-50 for the losers.

Heworth skipper Rich Walton had a superb day as he claimed 4-23 and then made 84 not out as his side beat Whitkirk by nine wickets.

Josh Kelly, with 25, was the only Whitkirk batsman to make any impression as his side struggled to 133-9 against Walton’s restrictive bowling.

The captain then dominated his side’s successful reply, as Neil Johnson struck 49 before becoming the only wicket to fall after tea.

Folkton & Flixton had the better of a closely-fought draw at Beverley as both sides earned maximum batting points.

Flixton’s total of 217-7 included 82 from Rich Malthouse and an unbeaten 44 by Mark Walmsley as Peter Parnaby claimed 3-33.

In Beverley’s response, Ben Fish made 54, Mike Cooke 41 and Parnaby 22 not out but they were only able to reach 201-8.

Harrogate’s George Owram was denied a century when the overs expired with him unbeaten on 99.

However, his already relegated side recorded their second win of the season by 103 runs against Goole.

Owram’s knock, plus 41 from Nick Taylor, helped produce a total of 226-8.

James Kerr had 3-64 for Goole, who fell to 123 all out.

Second-placed Bolton Percy stalled Hornsea’s promotion hopes in division two in a close draw.

Percy posted 227-8 thanks to Jacob Green’s 95, plus Tom Atkinson’s 33 and M Howden’s 50.

Hornsea closed on 221-4 and, by gaining 22 points, Bolton increased the gap to third-placed Londesborough Park to 17 points.

Woodhouse Grange II were dismissed for 73 at Tadcaster Magnet as Paul Clark captured 6-20 in 12 overs and Richard Coe 3-0 in 4.3 overs. Scott Shepherd made 30 for Grange and Dave Suddaby then struck back with 4-29, but Magnet completed a five-wicket win.

In-form Thirsk picked up their fourth win in five outings, beating Londesborough Park by four wickets.

Park totalled 171-8 as Barry Petty picked up 3-32.

A fourth-wicket partnership of 113 between Mark Cook (36) and Stuart Christon (76) helped Thirsk home.
