Rowntrees & Huntington’s Jack Hugill hit a century in his side’s division four draw at Malton & Old Malton.

Hugill made 102 as his side batted first and, with Tom Shaw adding 47 and Dick Shaw 25, a total of 216-6 was posted.

When Malton replied, Nick Lock (28) and Morgan Fraser (25) were early casualties as five wickets fell, but Ryan Gaughan (42no) and Tony Linsley (34no) avoided any further mishaps as they batted out for a draw at 145-5.

At New Earswick, Fenner moved to 158-2 before the game was abandoned.

Before the stoppage, D Davis had made 53, while Graham Williamson was unbeaten with 66 and Ian Pratt had moved to 28 not out.

Having been inserted at Goole, Pickering’s innings was becalmed by some tight early bowling by Louis Sugden as Les Welburn scored only six runs off his first 56 deliveries.

Urgency was injected by Charlie Marwood (22), Tim Whincup (22 off 19 balls) and under-15 wicketkeeper Ryan Taylor (27 off only 26 balls) as they totalled 181-7.

In reply, Goole batted steadily and kept up with the rate with Scott Thorpe (28) and Will O’Donnell (32) looking comfortable.

Marwood took 3-48 and Whincup’s spin was never mastered as he claimed 5-26, while Taylor capped a fine day by taking three sharp chances as Goole were all out for 124.

Division five leaders Heworth gained three points on their rivals when they managed to bowl out Stamford Bridge before the rain came.

D Davin was unbeaten with 40 and Graham Tipping made 27 for Stamford, but Graham Knott’s 5-22 had the visitors all out for 113.

Heworth were able to bat for one over before the game was called off.

In the only completed game in the division, Stillington maintained their interest in the promotion race by winning at Welton & Brough.

Welton were restricted to 142-8 as Wayne Linton became the first bowler to claim 50 victims as his 4-42 took his seasonal haul to 52.

He was well supported by Oliver Everard, who captured 3-34.

Stillington’s successful reply of 146-4 included 37 apiece for Barry Milburn and Tim Jarvis.

At Yapham, Londesborough Park were reduced to 95-5 when play was abandoned. Barry Shingles was unbeaten with 28, while Alex Nattrass was showing 3-27 and Dan Edwards 2-25.
